MP-UBD ENGINEERING SERVICES

Pre-project Engineering

Optimal conducts engineering feasibility studies for MP-UBD operations in a tiered approach as the complexity of these types of operations vary from project to project. A key document which is used to conduct any level of study is the MP-UBD Data Sheet, which forms the foundation of information from which Optimal Engineers may conduct their analysis and report the subsequent findings.

The analysis begins with the establishment of a multi-phase flow model (NEOTEC WELLFLO 7) to determine what processes will be required to attain the desired pressure state, being either low head, near balance / balanced, or full underbalanced operations.

Neotec WELLFLO 7 flow modeling is a nodal analysis software, and has become the industry standard software for flow modeling of underbalanced drilling (UBD) operations worldwide.

Results from the analysis guide the equipment selection and specifications to conduct the operations. HSE management is a fundamental part of MP-UBD planning & operations, and these topics are addressed in the detailed engineering feasibility study.

On-Site Engineering

On site supervision and monitoring of the MP-UBD drilling process to ensure safe and efficient operations as well as performing re-engineering where and when required.
